William Horlick was born in 1846 and James Horlick was born in 1844 in London, England.
In their early to mid 20's they traveled to Mount Pleasant, Wi to visit relatives. Soon after
William got married and they returned. After they returned back to England. Then surprisingly, William
asked James to go to America. And sooner than later they created their first factory in Chicago.
called J & W Horlick's Food Company. Malted milk was so important because it was healthy like
milk. It would not spoil like normal milk. It was easy to transfer because of its ability not to spoil.
